Why Use Games In The Classroom...

Often, games are used in the classroom as rewards or incentives for tests or good behavior. Sylvia Martinez would make the argument teachers should be using games in their classroom much more often than they do, and use them for solid learning. She has created a wiki as part of a presentation on games and gaming in the classroom. There is a plethora of resources! Everything from research on why games should be used in the classroom, lists of casual games to play, how virtual worlds like Second Life can be used for learning, to, how to design games effectively to facilitate learning. It's all there, in a very easy to use list.

So the next time your administrator wants to know why you are playing games when they come to visit your classroom send them over to Sylvia Martinez's wiki.
